The duration of momentary pleasures is diminishing drastically. The few seconds you have been in its bask, you feel weighed on by it. Been there, done that.. Now what? You immediately start exploring newer ideas, new thoughts start working on, attempts to do things differently begin. I guess, human beings are made not to be satisfied by what one has got but how to make it better. These ephemeral achievements fuel the quest for some eternal bliss which has been the engine of change since genesis.
A person can’t repeat success if he rests on his laurels more than the average time acknowledged globally. There have been instances of one hit wonders among writers, actors, live performers. If analysed threadbare, you would realize these shooting stars burnt out their stuff at one go and could not ignite it again. Lack of self belief or fear of failure crept deep within them making them submit to their insecurities. No successful person can say that he hasn’t seen failures but he will say with pride that he corrected himself in time and turned it into a success. It only depends on the amount of time consumed to brood or celebrate over the result of the action done. More the time spend is more the time taken to move on to either amend or create anew. Every moment is preset for an outcome to happen and what matters is where you were and did you own that moment when it took place.
There is an average length of duration set for your joy and sorrow too. The average mourning period for a loving one is around twenty days. Life by its daily chores helps you to tide over personal losses. For the passing time, no one is indispensable. Refusing to go with it will only make loneliness envelope you like the darkness of an empty unlit room. Living in the present and preparing for the future is the essence of life and any attempt to peep back in the past would dither away one from their course.
I quite often experience these short-lived phases of life and often wonder at the futility of grizzling or feting over it. You will only find yourself alone if you overdo the time slotted for it.
