There is an adage which goes “Love like you have never been hurt…dance like no one is watching….work like you don’t need the money”. The last few days, I had the good fortune to meet a few people who truly live to the last part of the saying.
People who are passionate about their work can never be compensated enough. They would approach their task with the same sincerity as they would tend to a personal chore. These bunch of vibrant professionals are the real assets of an organization, their value creators. They set their own standards, raise the bar regularly and go way beyond the KRA’s or KPI’s set by the company. The Management should catch them young, nurture them, mentor them but let them play their natural game. Archaic policies and hindering company rules shouldn’t block their virgin thought process.
The professional space I am in , allows me to interact with such inspiring people and exchange valuable tips. The most common trait which runs across this breed is constant experimentation of benchmarked processes while treading unpaved path.
The aggression and the energy they hold within often don’t reflect in their exterior makeup. Their meek physical attributes shouldn’t deceive their superiors to shortchange them or ridicule any of their failed attempts. Doing so, they are adding fuel to the fire and should be beware of being consumed by it.
Challenge him and he will redefine the rules of the game and elevate the turf it is played on.
