A fulfilling week and a half

The temporary farewell to pen had been because of a grueling one and half weeks with engagements calling for physical and mental presence. A tired body induces deep sleep but when a preoccupied mind prevails over it, it’s time to seriously unshackle oneself and seek some time in solitude. I hope this isolated space indexes my thoughts, prioritize the actions, decimate and order my reactions and ends the turmoil set in. I greatly admire people who carve out some time everyday from their daily schedule for oneself. Like a cooling down is important after a workout, an indulgence of something to unwind the day should be a given. It’s when the body and the mind is in perfect harmony, you are transported to a dreamless state of sleep, exited from the real world and relieved of all thoughts.

This state has been eluding me for a while now..!!!

The week and a half gone by was a fulfilling one. The meetings were spread across two big cities of the world, one my lovely Mumbai and other the nation’s capital. The people were diverse in their thoughts, their aspirations, and their competence but common in their endeavors. The audience I get from these achievers makes the work highly enjoyable. I always look forward to the few minutes slotted to me for I always take back something to reflect upon and amend the way I conduct myself. I can bet no management school can teach these finer points in any better way than hearing these industry veterans in person. The best part of this learning is that it is totally free of charge and I always prod and push a little more to extract something more out of their varied experiences.

My professional life hasn’t seen so many highs as I have had in the recent past. For the last few days I have been collaborating with a few young professionals from my company in showcasing our systems to some reputed companies in the trade. They have left me amazed with the depth and intricate knowledge they have of the application. Rohan and Amay are blessed with abundant energy which is infectious. The enthusiasm and self belief radiated across to the clients we were courting as the attention they gave was quite rapt. I am sure they are already inspiring their peers with their valuable contribution.

I thoroughly enjoyed the conference and expo held in New Delhi. It was again a exercise in team building and honing skills. The confluence of talent, vision and the overall experience deserves a post of its own. I hope to pen it soon.
