Holding on to the resolve...

Day 2

02.11.2010 : 10.16 PM

They say all resolutions made on New Year’s Day have a shelf life of 10 days. I shamefully agree with the research which has thrown such results, for on past occasions, mine had bit the dust by dusk on the same day. But on day 2 of this New Year I would like to believe I still hold the nerve and a stronger resolve to beat the cynics this time. The resolutions so to say are only privy to me and consciously not shared, so all the more important to uphold them.

It was funny reading my FB pal Priju Thomas’s comment on how he misread Beholder as “Beer-holder”. The mirthful guy he is, it’s easy for him to derive humour out of draggy status messages. It can get a little tricky on a virtual medium if you take innocent potshots and the recipient takes offense.

The newspaper vendor skipped my house today. On a Sunday, there couldn’t be anything more frustrating. The Sunday editions of newspapers speak a lot of the media houses it belongs to. The rich and varied the content, the discerning reader loyalty it garners. There are a few Sunday columnists who are much sought after because of the insight they provide and their articulation opens newer dimensions on an ongoing event. Most of the morning hours on Sundays are consumed reading the outpourings of these learned souls. Today, I got snapped at the last mile.

Christmas vacations are over and Sneha’s school open tomorrow. She is as excited like the way she was when it closed a week back. I guess it’s with the children of this generation that they learn and enjoy the moment, irrespective of where it comes from. The mentors of their times treat them as a thinking pupil and participate their wards at every level as a part of curriculum. The system to engage a child early on is slowly removing all fears and instilling confidence to betroth life tomorrow.

The first working day of this New Year begins tomorrow. A new charter…A new reckoning…
